LESSON 01 · GETTING STARTED
Open Your Broker Account + Deposit
~9 MIN READ · FREE
Before you can place a single trade you need a regulated broker account. This lesson walks you through the signup, the verification, and the first deposit — nothing else.
- 1
Pick a regulated broker
Check that the broker is licensed, offers the pairs and metals you plan to trade, and supports MT5 or TradeLocker. Avoid brokers with no public licence number.
- 2
Create your live account
Use your legal name exactly as it appears on your ID. Choose a standard or raw-spread account in your own currency so you are not paying conversion fees on every trade.
- 3
Verify your identity
Upload a photo ID and a proof of address dated within the last three months. Verification usually clears in a few hours — do this before you fund the account.
- 4
Make your first deposit
Start with the minimum deposit $300 so position sizing still works while you learn. Only deposit money you can afford to leave untouched for months.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE NOW
A verified, funded account in your own name — nothing traded yet.
